Dumping At The End of Sassafras

Some residents have complained about the mess being dumped at the end of Sassafras Street. I emailed the city manager, and he told me the parks department put it there to use for city trees, but added, "We will however, in the future store the woodchips in a different location."

He also told me the city was doing backhoe work to clean up landscape work that was illegally placed there by residents. He said, "To assist us, should you see anybody dumping waste there please contact the police with a plate number and vehicle description."

I also asked him about the sidewalk issue, and in response, he said the following:

"The City's Comprehensive Plan addresses the need for new
sidewalks in the City which we hope to implement within the coming year.

now that i have bought the farm in bags of mulch, i find that i should have raided the ugly pile at the end of the street. do you think the city could at least move the pile to the side so it is not unsitely?

I live by this pile. The wood chips were there first. At some point, a couple of brown bags like the kind we put leaves in appeared with something in them. Then the sign went up. Then there were more wood chips. There was no need whatsoever for a backhoe to be brought in due to trash put there by residents!
