Great Success
The Neighborhood watch was a GREAT success! Thank you for all those who attended! In case you missed it, officer Ray Gilbert spoke about the Neighborhood watch program and the importance of neighbors looking out for each other. Here are some highlights of his talk:
- The police department offers business and residence checks. This means that if you go on vacation, you can have an officer come by your house and check your doors, walk around your residence, etc.
- If there is suspicious activity within the neighborhood, we can contact Officer Gilbert, and he will schedule extra patrols through the neighborhood.
- With regard to extra patrols, he did caution us that we need to watch our speed. No one wants a speeding ticket!
- He mentioned that solicitors must have a permit. If we see anyone trying to sell stuff, call the police department. Sometimes criminals are casing the neighborhood posing as salespeople.
- Report any suspicious activity or cars.
- Pick up after your pets! It is a city ordinance.
- There is a leash law. Dogs are to be kept on leashes!
